The Gevrey Chambertin 'Vieilles Vignes' by Jaffelin is a Burgundy red of great balance and finesse. It comes from old vines located at the foot of the Château de Brochon, a historic Renaissance castle situated in the heart of the Côte d'Or. The grapes are hand destemmed and aged for eighteen months in partially new French oak barrels. On the nose, hints of wild strawberry are perceived along with spicy and toasted notes that anticipate a powerful but extremely elegant structure. The sip reveals itself to be soft thanks to very fine tannins and a slight final savoriness. Excellent paired with duck breast in orange sauce with pink pepper
