The Pinot Noir 'Quartz Acorn' from Domaine Roy originates in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, where the Roy family continues a Franco-American winemaking tradition now complemented by the Tuscan experience of the Frescobaldi family. The name recalls the crystalline quartz that characterizes the marine sedimentary soils where the Pinot Noir vines grow. On the nose, notes of blackberry, elderberry, cloves, tobacco, and underbrush emerge, while on the palate, the drink is structured, with round tannins, vibrant minerality, and great depth. A full-bodied red, ideal with roast duck glazed with berries.
